We want to welcome you and your child to our classes and to the new school year 2006-2007.  We are looking foward to an exciting and challenging year for all.  If at any time during this year you have any questions, please contact us by calling the main office at (305) 823-6970 or write a note in your child's Home Learning notebook.  We will be more than happy to meet with you.
Ms. Gil
Class Rules

1. Follow directions the first time given.
2. Raise your hand to speak.
3. Stay in your seat unless you have permission.
4. Keep your hand, feet and ugly comments to yourself.
5. Walk quietly at all times.
6. Come prepared to class with materials and required assignments.
7. Follow these rules at all times, even in the cafeteria.
Home Learning

The Home Learning assignments are reviewed and checked as a Whole class activity on a daily basis.

We ask that a parent or guardian check the Home learning assignments every night and only after the work is accurately done the parent signs under the Home Learning stamp. This is the only way we, the teachers, have of knowing that an adult has seen and supervised the work.

Materials

- 1 bookbag
- 4 composition notebokes
- 2 red pens
- 2 highlighters
- 4 folders (no trapperkeepers please)
- 1 pack of notebook paper (please do not send the entire pack to class each day)
- 1 Spanish only dictionary
- 4 sharpened pencils brought to class each day (#2)
- a zippered pencil bag (no pencil boxes please)
- 1 box of 24 crayons
- 1 pair of student scissors
- 2 glue sticks

Attendance

Good attendance in school improves your child's progress. Every absence and tardy must be followed by a note from home upon return to school.

If your child is not in class at 8:30 am. he/she will be marked tardy. Five tardies in one marking period will make your child loose his/hers Perfect Attendance for that marking period.

After three absences excused by a Parent's note your child will need to bring a Doctor's note.
