Welcome to our Fourth Grade Class.

Home Learning

Homework is essential to your child's learning process. Homework assignments are based upon lessons taught that day. The home learning assignments allow the students to reflect on what was learned and an opportunity to practice those skills. Homework assignments should return with the students the following day. Students are responsible for checking their own work while the teacher discusses it in class and gives out the correct answers. At that time students get feedback and can see how well they are doing and clarify any confusion they may have.

Ways to Help Your Child Succeed

  • Review your child's homework and make sure it is getting done.

  • READ everyday!!! You may even want to take turns reading to each other or even make it a family event.

  • Have your child retell a story they read using their own words. Or have your child make up a story using their imagination.

  • Write letters to each other to practice writing skills.

  • Provide real life practice of mathematical concepts. (i.e. Calculating how much change they should receive when purchasing items, using a clock to tell you what time their favorite show is on, using cooking recipes to measure
    out or buy ingredients)
