The student services team work together to help your
child grow academically and psycho-educationally. We provide the students and parents with the
assistance and resources that they need in order to make their learning
experience at Palm Lakes Elementary a positive one.
Mrs. McGlynn, Mrs. Fernandez, Mrs. Arocha and Mrs.
Barrios work closely together to help your child with any academic difficulties
they may have as well as provide them with the opportunity to excel to their
highest potential in the Gifted Program when they are a qualified candidate.
You will find in our website that we will update you
with information from The Parent Academy as well as school presentations in our
school that are sponsored by the Student Services Team in our monthly
calendars.
We will also be recognizing the students recognized
for different character traits each month as well as the students nominated for
The Do the Right Thing Program sponsored by the City of Miami Police
Department.

September is
Safety Awareness Month
On September 18th
we had The Great Safety Adventure Truck sponsored by Lowe’s visit Palm Lakes
Elementary. The students in Pre-K
through 2nd grade were able to participate and learn about safety in
the home. They were presented with
safety hazards in the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom and
the backyard.
The students learned many
important lessons in Rover’s house such as staying away from matches, not
touching cleaning materials and hot stoves, staying away from medications and
how to evacuate from your house when there is a fire. The students at
