Spanish - S
Spanish for Spanish speakers (Spanish-S) was established in the 1960's. It is a full language arts program that enables students of Spanish language origin to become functionally literate in Spanish by reinforcing and acquiring skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Mr. Hernandez
Spanish - SL

Spanish as a second Language (Spanish - SL) is an essential component in the total elementary school curriculum. The ability to communicate in more that one language enriches one's life. This ability also increases employment opportunites across a broad range of careers. The curriculum objectives enable the students to develop the ability to speak and write the Spanish Language.

CCHL
At Palm Lakes Elementary, Curriculum Content in the Home Language (CCHL) is designed to provide in a language other than English selected basic skills and concepts to provide comprehensible instruction that supports the acquisition of content as the student acquires English. Such instruction in the home language implements in each curriculum area (for example Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Computer Literacy) the same instructional objectives as are implemented in the regular curriculum in English. It is offered to limited English proficient students.

Welcome to our ESOL pull-out class! Here we support the children who are learning English so they can excel academically while they are learning the language and adjusting to the new culture.

In our class I assign homework daily and the vocabulary list is to be practiced during the whole week . Children are expected to visit the city library at least twice a month and read every night at home.
