At Palm Lakes Elementary, the patrols are an integral part of the student body. They are selected on the basis of exemplary academic performance and conduct grades as well as their ability to demonstrate outstanding leadership skills. Some of their duties entail assisting with morning supervision and afternoon dismissal procedures. A select few are in charge of putting up the flag every morning and taking it down in the afternoon. There are also many patrols that assist kindergarten and  first grade students in getting to their designated  morning line up area or class.
In addition to that, they also perform an invaluable service when community leaders, district leaders, and other Dade Partners visit our school. They are truly phenomenal and we appreciate their hard work and dedication each and every day.
